Steve Markusfeld - Artistic Director

Steven Markusfeld earned his Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude in Theatre Arts at the University of New Mexico under the toutelage of Emmy Award winner Robert Hartung, among others.

He received his Master of Fine Arts at Brandeis University, Boston, where he studied with Tony award winner Vivian Matalon, as well as Ted Kazanoff and Gates McFadden. He has worked as an actor/director at the English Theatre, Theater am Turm, and Chaincourt Theatre in Frankfurt, and Stadtische Bühnen Bielefeld, among others.

Other engagements include the Theater in der Josefstadt, Studio Moliere, Austrian National Touring Company, as well as the Nestroy Festival Burg Lichtenstein in Vienna. In the area of arts administration Steven Markusfeld has worked as as Artistic Director/Producer of the Chaincourt Theatre in Frankfurt, Germany and the Musical Festival in Zell am See, Austria.

He was dramaturg and manager of the Dance Companies Ismael Ivo (Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar) and Ana Mondini (Staatstheater Kassel) and Head of artistic production at the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien for the world premiere production of 'Dance of the Vampires' as well as at the Deutsche Nationaltheater Weimar.

Currently he is Manager/PR Dramaturgie for Kevin O'Day-Ballett Mannheim.
