Mrs. Teboho Kikine - Ambassador's wife of Lesotho

Mrs. Teboho Kikine

She holds a BA from the University of Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland(UBLS), LLB and LLM Degrees from the National University of Lesotho(NUL); a certificate in Intellectual Property (WIPO); and a Diploma in International Mergers and Acquisitions(College of Law, Guildford Surrey, UK).

She has taught African languages, English and French, and has served in Lesotho Government service for 18 years. She has held the position of Director of the Legal Division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Master of the High Court in the Ministry of Law, a position she has held from 1988 to 1990 when she resigned to become a founding member of Naledi Chambers Incorporated, Attorneys, Notaries & Conveyancers. She initiated and worked on the 1984 amendment to the Companies Act 1967 in collaboration with the Lesotho Institute of Accountants. She coordinated and participated in the drafting of the new Industrial Property Order (patents, trade marks and designs) of 1989 and the Copyright Order of 1989. She has also served on the Board of the African Industrial Property Organization(ARIPO) in Harare, Zimbabwe with the assistance of the World Intellectual Property Organization(WIPO). She was the first woman chairperson of the Lesotho Telecommunication Authority(LTA) established after privatisation of the Telecommunications Sector in 2000.

Her law firm has developed great expertise in the applications for adoption for orphans and deserted children. She has been involved in the design and execution of a public awareness campaign aimed at the reform of laws affecting women in Lesotho, a programme considered quite successful in its effect on the attitudes and behaviour of the Basotho community. She has publications of letters on Women of Lesotho. She is an activist for the rights of Women and Children in Lesotho. We are honored to work with her.
