Wow what a year 2007 has been!!!
We have developed many new relationships with companies this year.
Reebok, Sparkasse, Stage Entertainment, Hueber Verlag, and Ensinger. We are so happy for their support.
This year in Germany we have had concerts given for the children and Galas and fundraising events.
Private gospel concerts by Tip2Tip , 3 musical Galas by Stage Entertainment (the Best of Musicals) and a fundraising evening sponsored by Ensinger in Horrheim given by the Galos Family, and a musical Gala produced by Das Hit Radio 100.5 in Aachen. I hope through the year you have been reading the website and you know about most of these generous events that were given for aRTISTS iN dIVINE sPIRIT.
In August we had a board meeting and we discussed all the ideas for the Gala in Aachen and the fundraiser in Horrheim. We also distributed our donation houses to different businesses in Germany and we planned a calendar of the children which we sold at the gala in Aachen and we also sold a CD of "For the Children" which is our theme song that was written by Alex Melcher. The song will be put on the website this year.
In December Natalia Avelon (our germany spokesperson) and I visited the children and gave them a big Christmas Party with christmas wrapped packages full of clothes and books. We had a Bar B Q for them and we danced and laughed and just had the greatest time together. They are precious and are so happy and grateful each time we are together.
We have a surprise for them now. The company "Specialized "has given us a bike for each child to ride to school!!!!!! They do not know yet. The bikes will be given to them in early June. On our December trip we met the King (Letsie III) and he was wonderful and was very happy that we are there to help his children and country. We also met the Commissioner of AIDS of Lesotho (Mr. Sefeane) and he was willing to support our movement. A meeting with Mamoth Companies was very inspirational. They want me to return and speak with the Chamber of Commerce in Maseru (capital of Lesotho) about a concert in 2010 for the children.
I am so happy with the progress we are making for the children. While in Lesotho, I set in motion a plan for the children to receive a social worker this year, which is needed. Three candidates were interviewed and one was selected and she started on May 1st. Our children must have someone to talk to about thier grief and their dreams.
I hope you all have been enjoying your newsletters about the children. This year we want to develop a "My Space "for our members where we can all chat with each other and exchange ideas for the movement and get to know each other. I can not tell you how much I appreciate your support and love. By helping others you receive the greatest gift of all, and that is love in your heart.
