Word of Founder
"Those who choose to be at peace must help their neighbors to be at
peace. Those who choose to live well must help others to live well, for
the value of a life is measured by the lives it touches. And those who
choose to be happy must help others to find happiness for the welfare of
each is bound up with the welfare of all."
This is the premise of aRTISTS iN dIVINE sPIRIT.
I have had the idea for the movement since 2003 when I went to New York and spoke with the Harlem School of the Arts. I knew I had to start making a difference in this world when I heard of a 2 year old child being raped because someone with HIV/AIDS thought by having sex with a virgin they would be cured. I said "the madness must stop". Then I started working towards something we people could do to make a difference in a world that is so desperately in need of a better way to view its purpose.
My first effort was to change the meaning of the letters A.I.D.S to a positive force hence aRTISTS iN dIVINE sPIRIT. Changing the consciousness of our now and next generation is the answer to a healthier and safer world. Sharing, caring, and loving others is the key to life, and it is time to move our world closer to these truths. The movement is a global effort to change consciousness of men through the love of children. I am asking us all to start from the beginning and teach our children to be givers, and to renew this spirit within ourselves as well. I always think how wonderful it is at Christmas. Whether you believe in Jesus or not, the whole world changes for the good during this time, because people are thinking of others. We should not wait for tragedy to strike or holidays before we give of ourselves. Giving should be our daily behaviour. To give is divine.
Our movement is focused on helping orphans in the world that have lost their parents to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Through helping these children we also want to lift the consciousness of mankind to the level of true love and understanding. People do give money to organizations to help others, but not enough people are investing their prayers and time in others. These are the elements that change things, not money alone. This is something we must all learn.
Always in Spirit
